There aren't any Tech Integration Projects for the content and application I want to teach. What can I do?
A: You can modify many of the Tech Integration Projects to use in other subject areas. Here are a couple of different approaches you can use:
- Use the Tech Integration Projects as is to learn the technology skills. Select a Tech Integration Project that teaches skills for the application you want your students to use. Have them complete the Tech Integration Project as is to learn application skills. Then assign a subject-related project that builds on those skills.
- Extend the Tech Integration Project by using your content. Select a Tech Integration Project that teaches skills for the application you want your students to use. Gather your own data and images and instruct your students to use your content instead of what is shown in the Lesson Accelerator. Your students will still be able to follow the step-by-step tutorials and you can simply provide the substituted content to them.
Example: If you want your students to create a PowerPoint presentation on an American president, select a PowerPoint Tech Integration Project such as "Painting Light and Shadow," or "Meet My Mammal."
- Use the Tech Integration Project as is: Have your students complete the Tech Integration Project that you selected. When they have completed it to your satisfaction have them apply the skills they learned by researching a president and creating a PowerPoint presentation about that president.
- Extend the Tech Integration Project by using your content: Select a president and gather your own data and images for your students to use. As they do the Tech Integration Project, instead of using our material, have them use your content.
